Shipping Methods

The shipping method and estimated ship time for each item will be noted on the product page. Estimates refer to how long it will take to ready the item(s) for shipping. Depending on the ship-to location, you should add on another 3-7 business days for delivery times (standard shipping). Smaller items, accessories, bedding and decor ship out via standard delivery US Postal Service, UPS or FedEx.  Larger items, furniture, rugs, and lighting often ship out via freight delivery.  At this time expedited and/or second day delivery is not available.

Drop Shipping

Drop ship items are shipped directly from our manufacturers and artisans to your door. If you have ordered several items from Cottage Furnishings, please be aware they may not arrive in the same box or at the same time.  You will be contacted via email with a tracking number from us once the item leaves the manufacturer's facility.

Shipping Rates

Smaller items ship via US Postal Service, UPS Ground, or FedEx,  and the carrier will be specified at the time the order ships out to you. Shipping rates are determined by the order total amount as determined below.  Orders shipped to Alaska or Hawaii will incur additional ship charges as noted below.

Freight Shipping

Some of our large or heavy items such as furniture, rugs and lighting are shipped via freight carrier. Carriers schedule deliveries Monday through Friday between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Standard freight delivery policy provides only curbside delivery. It may be helpful to have assistance available when your merchandise is delivered. Additional delivery charges may be incurred if you require the driver's assistance.

The carrier will require that you accept and sign for the shipment. Please carefully inspect the packages you receive. If your order appears damaged, describe the damages on the delivery receipt and contact us IMMEDIATELY.  Document all damage with photos of the item and any packing materials. You may refuse the delivery if you discover any damage. If you have any questions about freight shipments, please contact us at (949) 497.3121 10am - 5pm PST Monday-Saturday, or 12-5 pm PST Sunday.  Freight delivery is not available outside the contiguous United States.

We work with our manufacturers and craftspeople to coordinate freight shipping deliveries, contacting you for information as the delivery day nears. Once picked up from our manufacturers, freight delivery may take up to 2 weeks to arrive to you. Deliveries are usually scheduled for weekdays between the hours of 9am-5pm. It is essential that you be on hand for receipt and inspection of your freight shipped item(s). Any damages should be reported to us immediately, before signing for receipt of the merchandise, as claims must be made within 48 hours. Standard Freight delivery usually includes bringing the product to your doorstep but does not include bringing it inside, up flights of stairs, or removing any packaging material. White Glove Freight Delivery includes bringing the item(s) inside the threshold of your house and removing all packing material. The freight carrier may charge extra to bring item(s) up flights of stairs.

Shipping to AK/HI

Shipments to Hawaii and Alaska will incur additional charges beyond our standard shipping fees as noted in the chart above.  Products that are noted as "freight shipped" are NOT available for delivery to Alaska or Hawaii.

International Shipping

Sorry, at this time Cottage Furnishings does not offer international shipping or shipping to Canada via our website.

Delivery to PO Boxes

Our deliveries are sent by UPS, USPS ground delivery, FedEx ground delivery, or freight carrier. Post Office box delivery is not available.

Shipping Updates

When your order is ready to be shipped, a tracking number will be assigned to your package and you will receive an email notification that your package has been sent. The email will include the tracking number for reference. Please note that if you ordered several items, they may not all ship from the same location or ship at the same time. If this is the case, tracking numbers will be assigned to each individual shipment and you will receive notice and tracking numbers as each package is sent. The tracking number(s) will also be available from your online account. You can view your Order History which will include the track number(s) for your order.
