Return/Exchange Policy

At Cottage Furnishings, we take great pride in the quality and craftsmanship of all the products we sell, and we want you to love what you ordered. If for any reason you are dissatisfied with the items received, please contact us within 14 days for a refund or exchange. We encourage you to inspect all items upon receipt. If you have a concern or believe there is a quality issue, we will work with you to correct it, in accordance with the policy below. Refunds are issued in the original payment form and price, not including original shipping and return shipping charges. Returns must be sent to us in the original packaging.

Rug/Furniture/Lighting Returns

Rugs, furniture and lighting may be returned or exchanged within 14 days of receipt.  Because these items are not often stocked in our Laguna Beach store and are drop-shipped from the manufacturer, they will incur a restock fee of  20% of the product price.  Refunds are issued in the original payment form and price, not including original shipping charges, re-stocking fees, and return shipping charges.

Made To Order Items

Custom made furniture, customized upholstered furniture, and some art work (as noted on the product page) are custom made at the time you place your order.  Made To Order returns due to customer preference, or any other reason are not accepted.  Please double check your room and doorway measurements before ordering a large, made to order furniture piece as it will not be returnable if it does not fit. The only return exception for made to order items is damage caused in transit or manufacturer's defect.

Damaged Goods

If your item arrived damaged or defective, we are happy to arrange for a prompt replacement. Please contact us at (949) 497.3121 to help you with the process. It is essential that you contact us IMMEDIATELY, as well as documenting the damage with photographs of the item, shipping box and any original packing material. We will use these photos to determine if the damage is the fault of the craftsperson/artisan, or of the shipping company.  Also for freight deliveries, you MUST be present to inspect your items.  If there is any damage we MUST be notified immediately, and you should not sign off and accept damaged merchandise from the driver unless it is noted on the freight shipping paperwork.  With the proper documentation, we will be able to order a replacement item to be sent or issue a refund and have the item returned.  Do not discard the packing materials and shipping box, as these will be required to process the return.
